Dr. Shinde’s journey began with a solid foundation in medicine, as he completed his M.S. from the esteemed Government Medical College in Miraj. His early experiences as a Lecturer at the renowned Wanless Hospital in Miraj provided him with insights into the complexities of the medical world and ignited his passion for surgical excellence
He started his own hospital “Kaushalya Hospital & research Centre Nashik” at college road which became a home to more than 25000 patients in 25 years
Growth and adopting new technology prompted him to change over from his own self run hospital to a bigger Institute at ” KIMS Manavata hospital” in January 2025..
With a legacy spanning decades, Dr. Pramod Shinde has been a trailblazer in the field of laparoscopic surgery in Nashik and beyond. Almost every “first” surgery n Laparoscopic surgery has been done by him. He has lead the revolution in AWR surgery and founded the renowned AWR Surgeons’ Community in 2017 as one of the three founder Trustess. A Laparoscopic AWR GI, Onco, Hernia & Bariatric Surgeon par excellence, he has not only transformed the medical landscape of the region but has also contributed significantly to surgical advancements on a national & International level
Robotic surgery is now his forte, after excelling as a Laparoscopic GI, Onco, Hernia & Bariatric Surgeon, Dr. Shinde’s expertise now extends to Robotic assisted complex surgeries like Large recurrent hernias, Hiatus hernias, Colorectal surgeries and especially the modern techniques of hernia repair like “eTEP RS” and now thw very recent”PeTEP” approach.
Dr Pramod Shinde believes in growth continuous learning new techniques and being at the fore front of leadership and technology: Starting from the very “first ” Laparoscopic Gall bladder surgery in 1992, almost every “first” in North Maharashtra or even in India sometimes, has been done by him. India’s first Endoscopic Component separation surgery was done by him in 2014. Likewise, First Laparoscopic TAR, First eTEP, First PeTEP ( now in September 2025), has been done by him
After running a very successful “Kaushalya Hospital & reaserch centre” a 35 beds hospital for 25 years, He made a courageous decision to shift his surgical practice to a new Multispeciality 350 beds corporate hospital: “KIMS Manavata hospital Nashik. This decision was taken by him to keep pace with advancing infrastructure needs, in order to give the best care to patients and also, do more complex surgeries. A family of more than 25000 patients of Kaushalya hospital almost cried, and now miss the hospital which had become a home to them. But true to his philosophy of continuous growth, learning and excellence, Dr Shinde made this seemingly difficult decision, assuring his patients that he and his team are and will be ever present to take care of them, now at KIMS Manavata Hospital Nashik.
